I recently finished reading this graphic novel called Essex County by Jeff Lemire. He only draws using black and white and his line is very expressive. The drawings pulled me into the stories and made them feel real. Also, it's very Canadian which is nice to read because a lot of entertainment that I watch and a lot of books I read don't come form Canada. Some examples of drawings from the novel:
