I started watching some Art: 21 videos lately. They show different artist's processes and practices which makes it very interesting for aspiring artists. You really get to understand the artist's work and you get new ideas about ways of working.
First, I watched a new one, available online, about William Kentridge. It made me think a lot about using different media in art. He combines animation, film, opera, drawing and theatre all into one practice. I found it inspiring to see the way he reconciled his multi-media approach. I feel like my art is all over the place, too. I'm always exploring different media. It was nice to see someone use many different media in a successful way.

Since I was so inspired by this video, I decided to watch another. This one was about "Place." It included Richard Serra, Sally Mann, Margaret Kilgallen, Barry McGee and Pepon Osorio. Now that I've watched this video, I finally understand Richard Serra's art. I have never seen it in person, so I never really new what it was about. These videos really help you to see the art in a way that almost feels like I've seen it or even met the artist. I was also really inspired by Sally Mann. The way she incorporates her life and her art seemed really honest.
